Roofing built for Cape Coral's canals, wind and sun
Cape Coral is the biggest city in Southwest Florida and it has more waterfront than almost any city in the world. That is wonderful for boating and hard on roofs. Salt air corrodes exposed fasteners, open water gives the wind a running start, and Hurricane Ian made landfall a few miles away in September 2022.
International Roofing is the Vargas family’s company, founded in 2018 after Hurricane Irma and based across the river in Fort Myers. We install, repair and maintain roofs across Cape Coral, from the Yacht Club and Cape Harbour to Pelican, Burnt Store and the northwest Cape. Our team brings more than 25 years of experience, we are a licensed and insured Florida Certified Roofing Contractor (license CCC1332289), and we have been nominated Best Roofing Contractor in Southwest Florida three years in a row. Roofing services in Cape Coral
- Roof replacement. Architectural shingle, concrete tile, standing seam metal, stone coated steel and Brava composite.
- Aluminum standing seam for waterfront homes. Aluminum does not rust, and a standing seam profile has no exposed fasteners for the salt to attack. It is our recommendation for homes on the canals and the river.
- Storm damage repair and inspections. Lifted shingles, cracked tiles, missing ridge caps, panel movement and flashing failures. We document everything with photos and a report you can hand to your insurance adjuster. See Emergency Roof Repairs.
- Low slope and commercial roofing along Pine Island Road, Del Prado and Cape Coral Parkway. See Low Slope.
- Roof cleaning and sealing, seamless gutters, and the SHIELD Maintenance Program.
What Cape Coral roofs go through
Cape Coral’s housing stock is mostly single-story concrete block homes with shingle or tile roofs, many built in the 1970s to 2000s and many re-roofed in a hurry after Ian. The roofs we inspect in Cape Coral most often have one of these problems: aged shingle with granule loss, tile underlayment past its life, temporary post-Ian repairs that were never finished, and fastener corrosion on older metal.
We offer a complimentary Storm Ready Report to Cape Coral homeowners before every hurricane season. Read Cape Coral roof damage after Hurricane Ian: lessons homeowners should still follow.

Cape Coral roofing questions
Aluminum standing seam. It does not rust, has no exposed fasteners, carries a 120 mph wind rating and a Kynar 500 finish that holds its color in the sun. Tile and stone coated steel are also good choices. Standard galvanized metal with exposed screws is not.
Many post-Ian repairs were temporary. A free Storm Ready Report will tell you whether the repair is holding, whether the underlayment was damaged, and whether the roof will pass an insurance inspection.
Yes. We file with the City of Cape Coral building department and schedule the final inspection.
We are not public adjusters, but we provide the photos, measurements and written report your adjuster needs, and we meet the adjuster on site when asked.
