Meet the Experts Event: A Huge Success for Homeowners Preparing for Hurricane Season in Southwest Florida
Our
Meet the Experts Event was a smash success and I don’t say that lightly. From start to finish, the room was full of energy, great conversations, incredible food, live music, hands-on experiences, and most importantly real education that homeowners, real estate agents, and property managers could actually use.
If you missed it, here’s a full recap of what went down and why it matters for homeowners in
Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, and Naples as we head into hurricane season.
Powered by Community: Yelp SWFL Collaboration
This event truly wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the
Yelp SWFL Collaboration, and we want to give a special thank you to the
Elite Yelpers who attended and participated.
Your engagement, questions, and energy helped turn this into more than just an event. It became a true community experience centered around learning, connection, and preparedness.
Real Answers from a Property Damage Attorney: Cohen Law Group
One of the biggest highlights of the event was having
Attorney Angela Wood from Cohen Law Group join us for an open Q&A session.
Cohen Law Group is a respected
property damage law firm that has helped hundreds of International Roofing clients successfully navigate insurance claims after hurricanes and tornadoes.
What made this session so powerful was how open and honest it was. Homeowners didn’t just get surface-level advice. They got the real, raw truth about how insurance claims actually work before, during, and after a storm.
The Q&A went far longer than expected because attendees were deeply engaged and asking the questions that matter most, including how to prepare their home before a storm, what documentation is needed for insurance claims, and what actually happens after a hurricane hits.
The #1 Message: Get Your Roof Checked Now
If there was one takeaway from the entire event, it’s this. Do not wait until a storm is named to check your roof.
We are currently offering
free roof inspections until June 15th to help homeowners get ahead of hurricane season.
A professional inspection gives you high resolution photos of your roof’s current condition, documentation you can use for insurance claims, early identification of weak points or damage, and peace of mind before storm season begins.
If a hurricane impacts
Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, or Naples, having pre storm documentation can make a major difference in how your insurance claim is handled.
Manufacturer Experts Showcased Real Roofing Innovation
One of the best parts of the event was having leading manufacturers on site so homeowners could actually see and touch the materials that protect their homes.
VELUX Skylights and Solar Solutions showcased modern skylight systems that bring in natural light like never before. Homeowners saw skylights that open at the touch of a button, integrated blinds and design options, solar powered ventilation and lighting solutions, and sun tunnels that look like recessed lighting but bring in natural daylight.
IKO Shingles demonstrated why asphalt shingles remain one of the most common roofing systems in Southwest Florida. The focus was on how to maximize roof performance on a budget, when upgrades are necessary, and what homeowners should look for in hurricane prone areas.
Attic Breeze brought working solar powered attic vents, and the demonstration was a crowd favorite. The takeaway was simple. Reducing attic heat improves HVAC efficiency, lowers monthly energy bills, and helps keep homes cooler in Florida heat.
Brava Roof Tile was a major standout at the event. Their composite roofing system is often considered the “Rolls Royce” of roofing because it offers extreme hurricane resistance, Class A fire rating, impact resistance that makes it virtually unbreakable, no maintenance or repainting, and a 50 year warranty. Installed with stainless steel fasteners, this system is designed to last well beyond a homeowner’s lifetime.
Our International Roofing team also showcased metal roofing systems including standing seam, stone coated metal, and 5V crimp panels. Metal roofing continues to grow in popularity in Southwest Florida due to hurricane resistance, energy efficiency, long lifespan, and strong performance in severe weather conditions.
Food, Music, and a Truly Local Experience
This event was not just educational. It was a full community experience.
A huge thank you goes to
Ceviches by Divino and
Basil y Cilantro Catering for providing incredible food throughout the event.
We also want to thank
Collin Roberts for bringing live guitar and vocals that set the perfect atmosphere for the evening.
Sincerely Succulents added a fun hands on gardening experience where attendees created and took home their own succulent to care for. It was a simple but meaningful touch that made the event even more memorable.
Why Events Like This Matter
This wasn’t just a presentation. It was a conversation between homeowners and real experts in roofing systems, insurance law, storm preparation, and energy efficiency.
The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive and it confirmed something we already believe. Homeowners want honest information, not sales pressure.
We’re Doing This Again
Because of the response, we will absolutely be hosting more
Meet the Experts Events.
